Like so many others, at Easter I gave up chocolate for Lent. Well not everyone that gives up something for Lent chooses chocolate..but it worked for me.
Although it only struck me how pointless it was today. Lent ended three days ago, and this evening I devoured a large slab of calories - I mean chocolate cheesecake.
Don't get me wrong, it was obviously delicious. Only, everything I did for Lent seems to have had very little point.
I'm Catholic, but I'm not exactly your 'good' Catholic - as in I don't go to church much or go to confession (which is apparently now called reconciliation..)
So it's not like I was doing it for any strong religious belief. And there weren't many opportunities where I had to fight temptation; yeah it was annoying on my journey to the biscuit cupboard and having to choose the digestive over the bourbon. However, it was nowhere near as hard as last year in which I spent my chocolate-free Lent in Belgium.
I think that speaks for itself.
Actually there's very little point to this post whatsoever, I just thought I'd explain my musings.
More imporantly - FOOT CRAMP IS AWFUL. I mean it kills (not lieterally, it just really hurts).
I mean it's so unnecessary. One minute you're sitting there all fine (like now) then you move your foot ever so slightly and it feels as though someone is plunging a knife into your foot. Ouch! Not that you want to hear about the accidental pain I inflict upon myself. So that's tonights ramble over and done with. Two posts in one day, and only a few weeks to GCSE's..That IS a rarity!
